**HPC-Industrial** , powered by Clean Harbors, in **La Porte, TX** is looking for a **Welder/Fabricator** to work at our customer location and to join their safety conscious team! This team member is responsible for the successful execution of the application of trade skills to a wide variety of welding, fitting and custom fabrication and various other responsibilities. Performs welding operations as required by job specifications with SMAW, GTAW, GMAW and FCAW. 3. Knowledge of raw materials and understands MTR’s and electrode classifications. 4. Perform pre welding operations with saws, shears, automated cutting equipment for shaping and preparation. 5. Understand the use of weld inspection tools and their use. 6. Assist in dimensional verification checks. 7. Understands basic inspection of welds for discontinuities. 8. Performs advanced fabrication, documents measuring, etc. 9. Work will require occasional weekend, Holiday, and/or evening work. 1. Must have a High School education or equivalent. 2. Must have completed the 90day probation period. 3. Must have completed and demonstrated proficiency in all safety and welding applications. 4. Must have completed and passed a 6G test on carbon steel 5. Must have the ability to multi task. 6. Must possess good mechanical skills. 7. Must be able to take direction from others. 8. Possess the ability to effectively communicate both orally and in written form. 9. Must be detail oriented. 10. Must have a good math aptitude. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Prior experience working as a welder/fitter. 2. Reliable transportation. 3. Ability to operate machine tools such as drill press, lathe, milling machines and utilize precision measuring instruments is a plus. 4. Ability to communicate effectively and utilize computers is also a plus. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 1. The ability to lift up to 60 pounds occasionally. 2. The ability to use hand tools for pushing and pulling. 3. The ability to work overhead. 4.
