Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Welder with a minimum of 3 years of MIG welding experience. The ideal candidate must have experience working with mid-grade or heavy steel and aluminum, as well as at least 3 years of blueprint reading experience. Pay is competitive and based on the quality of welds, experience, and attitude. There is a shift premium for 2nd shift.

ResponsibilitiesReview job orders (written or verbal) and interpret welding specifications according to code certifications, alignment, dimensional, and general inspection requirements.Set up jobs, fit and position weldments using fixtures, jigs, and vary welding techniques, materials, and equipment within recognized limits or procedures.Perform welding and related tasks such as surface preparation, thermal cutting, grinding, etc.Inspect welds and welded surfaces for proper bonds.Clean and maintain the work area daily, welding equipment, and other tools of the trade.Work in a safe manner at all times.Ensure all work adheres to ISO and Quality standards.Essential SkillsMinimum of 3 years of MIG welding experience.Experience with mid-grade or heavy steel and aluminum.At least 3 years of blueprint reading experience.Working knowledge of standard welding principles and techniques including oxyacetylene welding, arc welding, and inert gas welding (e.g., TIG, MIG).Ability to read and understand weld specs, shop drawings, job layouts, and blueprints.Proficiency in basic math, measuring instruments (rules, etc.), gauges, and templates.Additional Skills & QualificationsMust have own weld helmet and gear.Must know large weldments (e.g., CAT, Joy Global, CNH, Automotive, Ag, Construction, etc.).Formal apprenticeship training is desirable but not essential.Forklift operator certification.Ability to communicate and work effectively with others.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The work environment includes a 2nd shift schedule from 1:30 pm to 12 am, Monday to Thursday, with optional overtime on Fridays. You will build industrial radiators for warehouses, production facilities, and data centers in a clean and organized facility. The shop is not temperature controlled and can get hot in the summer. You will work alongside other employees in the fabrication department, including welders, brake press/punch press operators, turret operators, and laser operators. The company is focusing on radiators for data centers as a future business direction. The work location is a welding shop and metal fabrication/assembly shop with exposure to hot objects, glare, sparks, fumes, airborne particles, toxic/caustic chemicals, and moving mechanical equipment. Personal protective equipment, including company-supplied flame-resistant overclothing, safety mask and shield, safety glasses, safety shoes, and ear protection, is required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.50/hr.
