WELDER-FABRICATOR
Job Summary
Department: Welding/Fabrication
Reports to: Fabrication Supervisor/Plant Manager
Location: Kansas City, MO
Summary
Perform an array of functions that may include receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse.
Job Responsibilities:
Identify Tools/Machines Used:
Welders, (MIG or wire feed). Grinder, chipping. Pneumatic tools, wrenches, impact wrenches, hand tools, hammers. Pry bars, drills, saw. Shears, lathes, drill press, brake press, burner table.
Skills and Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent preferredTwo plus years of progressive assembly and welding experience in a similar work environment Demonstrated mechanical, welding, and repair abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks.Exhibits strong judgment and decision-making skills. Must have personal initiative. Will work independently or in team or work group environment. Must possess a strong desire to learn.Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
Previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is preferred but not required
Working Conditions:
•Work is conducted inside and outside during all-weather types.
•Temperatures will be variable according to season and specific work site.
•Tasks may involve moderate to heavy physical labor.
•Walking, climbing, standing, sitting, and lifting are required.
Physical Requirements
Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling 25/50/80 pounds regularlyThe ability to respond quickly to soundsThe ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spacesThe ability to see and respond to dangerous situationsThe ability to safely climb ladders while carrying 40 pounds and balancing on ladders and platforms of heights above 42”Be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl throughout an 8-12-hours per dayThe ability to work in extreme weatherThe ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day
