Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder/Fitter to join our production team. You will be responsible for fitting and welding metal components, ensuring accurate dimensions and quality workmanship. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a commitment to safety.
Responsibilities:
Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and practice safe work habits.
Use measuring devices to ensure proper dimensions.
Determine appropriate welding equipment and methods based on project requirements.
Set up components for welding according to blueprints.
Weld pieces together to create finished products according to documented prints.
Grind burrs and sharp edges using hand grinders.
Examine completed workpieces for defects.
Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
General metalworking abilities.
Basic mathematics skills, including fractions and measurements down to 1/16th of an inch.
Ability to operate an overhead crane (training provided).
Ability to work effectively as a team member and independently with minimal supervision.
Adaptability and willingness to learn.
Good attendance and punctuality.
Ability to work overtime as required.
Ability to inspect fabricated parts before welding.
3+ years of MIG welding experience preferred.
3 years of fitting experience a plus.
Experience laying out and measuring required.
Experience working with and reading prints required.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to read a ruler down to the 16th of an inch.
Ability to add and subtract whole numbers and fractions.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Capable of bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, working overhead, and standing for long periods of time.
Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
Pay Rate: $18-26 (depending on experience)
