Job DescriptionLift, assemble and tack joist pieces at the jigRead and interpret shop drawings as requiredFind the right pieces of metal, position them, line up and secure all pieces according to the design and help set up the jig as requiredKeep the work area clean and follow 5S standardsPractice good housekeeping, including 5S and time management, in the performance of daily dutiesComply with all legislated and company’s Health, Safety Environmental, Quality and Lean policies, procedures and programsAll other duties as assigned

QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentMust be able to produce clean, accurate welds and to pass CWB welding test(s)Ability to regularly push/pull/lift up to 50 pounds, ability to stand continuously, and hold a welding gunWelding experience or training in a manufacturing environment preferredAbility to communicate, read and write in English is a mustAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety and operating policies, procedures and instructionAbility to work safely and maintain production demandsWillingness to engage in training as required, and to work overtime, including weekends

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must always be worn (including but not limited to: metatarsal safety boots, safety glasses, welding helmet, welding gloves/sleeves, ear plugs and respiratory protection).

Position will require the ability to produce welds which meet company quality standards, the ability to lift parts as needed and the ability to work at a pace established by production standards.
