Position Summary: Responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations to manufacture product to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Interpretation of mechanical drawings, including weld requirement symbology
• Knowledge or wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys and aluminum
• Working knowledge of fixturing and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)
• Conventional and precision measuring instruments
• Process inspection, certification, and documentation
• Welding equipment maintenance
• Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools
• Safety and housekeeping
• Other duties as requested, directed or assigned by the Supervisor

Requirements:
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required as well as ability to read, write, and speak English in order to understand written and verbal instructions and document completion of work
• Organizational skills and ability to multi-task
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while exhibiting professional behavior
• Decision making capabilities – ability to make decisions and solve problems
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all company personnel, vendors and customers
• Successful completion of an internal welding test




Definitions: C – Constantly (> 66% of the time)
F – Frequently (34-65% of the time)
O – Occasionally (< 33% of the time)

Essential Functions: Frequency:

Work Environment: This position operates in a plant environment of noise, dust, odors, and fumes. Possible exposure to any number of elements, but none present to the extent of being disagreeable. Excessive heat in the summer time.

Physical Demands: This is a full-time position. Must be willing to work overtime as scheduled and required.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Required to wear Safety Shoes and use Safety Glasses and Hearing Protection. Required to wear cotton, long-sleeved shirt, buttoned around neck or welding protective clothing. Required to use Welding Helmet while performing specific tasks.
