We are seeking a Welder for a position in Plaquemine, LA. The Welder position lays out, fits, and welds fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble structural forms, such as tanks, pressure vessels, furnace shells, pipe and building and bridge parts. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Foreman; Assigned duties according to specific procedures \/ work is checked frequently.\n

Essential Qualifications: \n\nHigh school or equivalent\nMinimum four (4) years of experience in specified skill\nMust be able to pass a weld test before being hired\nMust be certified as a welder\nWritten pre-employment qualification test\nPost-offer drug\/alcohol screen and physical evaluation\nJob site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)\nSafety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)\nApplicant\/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace\n\n

Functional Requirements:\n

Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding, Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together, Bolts, clamps, tacks parts to secure in position for welding, Sets up equipment and welds parts, May assemble parts by bolting and riveting, May weld pipe such as carbon steel, stainless steel, chrome, etc. by process of arc, heliarc, gas, tig, etc., May weld pipe, sheet metal, structural steel, brackets, or other materials, May repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts, May use cutting torch to cut materials and demo existing assemblies, Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.\n
