Welder – Weekly Pay – Start ASAP

Location: Omaha, NE

Pay Range: $20-26 per hour (based on experience and skills)

Hiring Bonus: $2,000

Overall Summary

Under direct supervision, responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding, and weld finishing operations to manufacture products according to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.

Essential Job Functions

Proficient in assigned welding techniques such as MIG welding.Interpretation of mechanical drawings, including weld requirement symbols.Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys, aluminum, and some exotic materials.Working knowledge of fixturing and weld setup parameters (amps, volts, etc.).Use of conventional and precision measuring instruments.Process inspection, certification, and documentation.Welding equipment maintenance.Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools.Regular attendance and punctuality.Safety and housekeeping.Other duties as assigned by the area supervisor.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Successful completion of an internal welding test and the ability to achieve certification.Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.Good math and measurement skills.Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.Physical ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and position parts for welding.Ability to lift 50 lbs. from a floor or bench level to a welding table or fixture.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent.One year of experience in various forms of welding, preferably in a job shop environment.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently throughout the day.Must be able to lift objects from floor to above shoulder level and from lying position on back overhead.Must be able to move objects/parts/tools and equipment from one area to another and one level to another.This position includes the following physical demands:Extending and pulling the hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction while working with various tools.Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, pulling, or otherwise working with hands and arms.Using arms in such a way as pulling of tools, wrenches, parts, and equipment to complete the job.Picking, pinching, or otherwise working with fingers primarily (rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling).Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.Ability to climb up and down trucks, steps, and ladders safely.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $49920.00/yr.
