Position Overview:

STS Technical Services is hiring a skilled Welder to join our team in High Ridge, Missouri. This role is essential in producing high-quality work that meets rigorous standards and contributes to the continuous improvement of our operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in various welding processes, a strong understanding of safety protocols, and the ability to read and interpret technical documents, including blueprints and weld symbols.

Key Responsibilities: Quality Work Production: Produce quality welds that meet prescribed standards, focusing on continuous improvement to fulfill customer commitments on time and within budget. Safety Compliance: Maintain a safe work environment by strictly adhering to all safety procedures, including the proper handling of materials, chemicals, tools, and equipment. Ensure the correct use of required PPE at all times. LEAN & Continuous Improvement: Participate in LEAN Events, “Six S” activities, and action teams to support ongoing process improvements. Welding Expertise: Understand and perform various welding processes on specific metal types with proficiency. Demonstrate knowledge and experience in welding techniques that meet NAVSEA and ASME codes and specifications. MIG Welding Proficiency: Perform material preparation, set-up, and fit for MIG welding processes, focusing on carbon steels. Blueprint Interpretation: Read and accurately interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and NDE symbols to ensure compliance with acceptance criteria. Cross-Department Communication: Coordinate with other departments, including Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Sales, to ensure smooth production processes. Inspection & Maintenance: Conduct visual inspections of weldments to ensure compliance with codes and standards. Perform routine maintenance on all welding equipment. Knowledge Sharing: Share technical requirements, welding techniques, safety information, and best practices with peers to maintain a high standard of work across the team. Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or GED required. Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required. Experience: Demonstrated experience and proficiency in MIG welding processes, with the ability to meet industry codes and standards.
