SUMMARY OF POSITION:
We are looking for a Welding Engineer to be responsible for managing welding projects and working with the welding team. The responsibilities of a Welding Engineer include providing consulting services, coordinating multiple projects, and overseeing the welding procedures. The incumbent will also provide support to the Chief Product Engineer to ensure a professionally and efficiently run department and to support the Chief Product Engineer in this capacity on various AAR Committees and Industry Task Groups.
Primary responsibilities and/or essential functions include, but not limited to:
Leading welding projectsAnalyzing engineering designs for welding requirementsReviewing welding procedures, processes, and documentationManaging welding procedure qualifications and generating welding procedures to help the manufacturing and welding teamsInvestigate welding related issues to improve product performance and increase productivityTroubleshoot welding problems and provide corrective solutionsConducting failure analysis and cause analysis on welding issuesOverseeing production and ensuring that products conform to FRA standards, market specifications and safety regulationsCANDIDATE SKILLS
Customer service skillsAdvanced analytical and design skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsKnowledge of industry and market trendsGood project management skillsEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in welding engineering or related field, from an accredited college or university.1 or more years experience in Welding Engineering in manufacturing environmentExperience with Lean Six SigmaRegulated industry experience required (FRA, AAR, DOT) experience strongly preferred.Previous experience in a national heavy industrial manufacturing business preferred.Experience building relationships with customers, vendors, and departmentsExperience with factory support and improving sustaining operations.DISCLAIMER
