Job Description
Insight Global is hiring for a Welding Engineer to join the Welding Center of Excellence at one of our largest utility clients. This is a full time opportunity onsite in the Bronx.
In this role, the Welding Engineer may be working under the guidance of a Team Leader, Engineer, or Senior Engineer and will be collaborating with field technicians and other engineers within the gas engineering division to direct/instruct welders in the field and solution issues that the welders encounter. . The main objective of this position is to ensure the streamlined completion of welding processes within a pipeline construction environment. Other responsibilities include inspecting, designing, and assessing welds, as well as planning and recording welding activities in accordance with applicable codes, blueprints, or contracts. This position takes place in the office, and includes occasional site visits to the field.

Skills and Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Material Science, Welding Engineering or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience with material selection, metallurgy, multi-disciplinary collaboration, welding automation/.robotics, and welding codes/standards compliance
- Demonstrated ability in managing and reviewing welding procedures, welding procedure qualifications, and generating welding procedures
- Driver's license and reliable transportation required
- Excellent interpersonal skills in a team dynamic, verbal and written communication skills - Familiar with API1104 standards
- Master's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering or related technical field
- Any of the following certifications: Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) / Certified Welding Engineer (CWEng) / ASNT DNT Level I or II null
