Welding Process Engineering Senior Manager
Job Description
The Welding Process Engineering Senior Manager oversees all welding engineering activities, the position also requires benchmarking standard methodologies and ensures that desired weld procedures are certified, and the most productive processes are employed to meet quality requirements.GA
Handle developing and qualifying welding procedures as required to ensure weld quality requirements and expected productivity are met.
Maintain awareness of welding issues and changes within projects
Provide mentoring and technical advice to subordinate resources in the department in support of departmental replacement and succession planning.
Support new construction model/drawing reviews from a welding engineering perspective and provide supports to Operations/Design/Engineering teams.
Manage all the Body in White (BIW) VPE Mexico activities for 4 plants (SVAP/STAP/TAP & SALT EXT)
Monitor the timing for more than 15 projects for all locations and ensure the EEM WB implementation.
Control the portal funds and coordinates the investments in all the project on time.
Follow up all the Project from the investment studies until the end and delivery to the plants.
Accomplish in all the projects with Manufacturing Process Readiness Qualification, (MPRQ: Apply check lists in projects and maintain the zero no build conditions.
Coordinates main activities during the shutdown activities with suppliers, plant security and VPE to accomplish with all the changes.
Coordinate with plants all the insources support to accomplish with the want to be results
Develop the new strategies and investments studies to accomplish with the capex for each plant.
Coordinate with 4 Engineering heads all the activities and projects for 4 plants. Work with feasibility Teams future projects. Work with 4 plant managers to align the VPE and want to be activities.
Specific Functions
Strategic 60% To following up tooling and equipment specification. Package to make sure accomplish within project timing and scope. To following up tooling and equipment purchase requisitions creation and Placement. To following up OEM (suppliers) timing, design, construction, installation, testing, certification, validation, cycle time and pilots run.Operational 20% To coordinate workbooks filled up following WCT methodology. To coordinate risk assessment and health assessments. To administrate Toluca's and Saltillo's personnel to accomplish all activities.
Resource Management 20% Facilities and tooling constraints understanding. BIW and General assembly (GA) investment handling to meet standards, and ascending order. Ascending assembly order and process standard.
Position Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or related degree in the Industrial Technology. 13 years of experience working in BIW and GA areas as supervisor, knowledge about BIW and GA process ascending assembly order, process standards, structure and facilities (building, conveyors, electrical substation, air compressors, water supply etc.) involving BIW and GA areas. English proficiency: Bilingual Knowledge in statistical process analysis of welding processes, weld machine/specification requirements, root cause analysis and disposition discrepant hardware. Knowledge of non-destructive weld test processes and procedures. Familiarity working with electronic planning, drawings, and pertinent documents such as weld parameters or weld schedules. Familiarity with Welding concepts.Location
