Well Control Engineer

Summary: As part of the Engineering team, this position provides engineering support for well control (WC) operations as needed, from company office, client office and on site as needed.  Travel is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Participate in activities of Well Control Engineering Section according to skill level and experience.  These activities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Provide engineering support to well control (WC) operations as needed, from company office, from client office and onsite. Develop, improve and implement WC technology to maintain company’s leadership position in the industry Handle client WC engineering projects, including but not limited to: Well Control Modeling Risk assessments Dynamic kill planning Assisting with Blowout Contingency Plans Well Control Equipment Surveys Document above as needed, including correspondence, proposals, reports and invoices. Client presentations, conferences and trade shows to promote company’s capabilities. Travel as needed, both domestic and international. Work outside of normal office hours as needed to support emergency WC operations.

Minimum Requirements:

2 or more years work experience (including internship) with operator or service side of upstream oil and gas industry; preferably in drilling, workover, snubbing or production. Preference will be given to candidate engineers with significant hands-on operational experience Proficiency knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel and Power Point Knowledge and experience with numerical simulations desirable but not essential Ability to apply basic principles to solve engineering problems rather than relying on traditional processes Communications skills - Ability to express ideas in simple and succinct manner verbally as well as in technical writing and presentations Good interpersonal skills, able to deal with a wide range of situations and personalities. Ability to work well under pressure A team spirit and cooperative nature Self starter capable of working and prioritizing projects with little supervision

Education: 

B.S or above in Engineering, preferably Petroleum or Mechanical
