Job Overview
The Well Engineering IV Support acts as a specialist to support the Well Engineer and project Team on the design, planning and execution of well engineering for drilling and completions. This role integrates Weatherford's well construction technologies, industry solutions, and thorough analysis in Integrated Services and Project Management (ISP) projects. The Well Engineering IV works closely with the Engineering Lead and the rest of the team to prepare and execute the safest and most efficient plans to drill and complete wells.
Responsibilities Adhere to the ISP Well Construction Management System to ensure well integrity and delivery within planned time and budget; prepare corrective actions in case of deviations Develop and fully implement well engineering best practices, peer reviews, and technology application during planning, execution, and closure phases for projects Ensure all wells are budgeted, planned, and designed to meet contractual minimum standards, regulatory requirements, policies, and HSE & sustainability goals Manage Weatherford products and services as well as third-party vendors to comply with technical scope and provide oversight of operations Document and communicate learnings from projects adequately Identify deviations from Weatherford Policies and Standards and document the adequate management of change and/or exemption process Act as a focal point for technical matters and liaison with client-side counterparts Provide advice on operational contingencies and validate alternate plans with the Superintendent Responsible for the technical competency and capability of the engineering team; develop training plans for team members Qualifications MSc/B.Sc. in engineering or scientific discipline Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience in a well engineering role (drilling/completions), (QBE – Qualified By Experience) Proficient in Microsoft Office & industry-used well engineering software Fluent written and spoken English Preferred Relevant experience both in the field and office in well engineering, preferably with an Oilfield Services Provider for Integrated Projects Relevant industry-related training Fluency in more than one language Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Detailed understanding of drilling practices and procedures Ability to organize and plan projects with technical and scope uncertainties, multiple phases, and tight timelines Strong communication, organizing, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities in constrained and/or demanding conditions Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with diverse professionals Practical and results-oriented approach to deliver a safe and executable plan Mechanical aptitude and strong visualization capability Contribute to sustaining a positive, progressive, and supportive team environment Ability to apply and encourage a solution-based approach to understand client needs and well problems
