Position Highlights:

The Wellness Coordinator is responsible for developing, planning, implementing and monitoring organization wide wellness programs that target the physical, emotional, social and financial components of total wellbeing to support a culture of health. The role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a commitment to creating positive outcomes for team members.

 

Responsibilities:

Communications

Maintain content on Wellness intranet page plus serve as the initial point of contact for Wellness inquiries. Serve as the Chair for the Wellness Activities Committee (WAC) and liaison to the Center for Wellness Champions. Maintain effective communication and promotion of Wellness programs utilizing various media resources while also partnering with internal marketing and communications teams to provide periodic wellness information/content. Develops annual wellness communication strategy collaborating with internal marketing/communications plus vendor resources. Complete annual review and updates to existing health promotion education and marketing communications.

 

Wellness Activities

Create, plan, organize and execute activities and programs that support Moffitt's overall wellness objectives and initiatives. The position will be the key driver for these programs while coordinating with internal and external resources and stakeholders. In collaboration with the Wellness Steering and Activities Committees, identify and promote health and wellness programming and priorities that meet the needs of our team members and leadership who support them. The position will recommend changes and modifications to wellness objectives and programs through analysis of health statistics, wellness assessments, program participation and outcome measurements.

 

Wellness Budget

Create and maintain the overall wellness budget for the department in conjunction with the Director - Benefits & Wellness. The position will utilize vendor supplied funds as well as any additional funding provided by the Center.

 

Wellness Resource

Educate employees on the importance of health and wellness and motivate them to make healthy changes. Develop and deliver presentations on health and wellness topics. Collaborate with other departments to promote a culture of health and wellness. Collaborate and assist with promoting initiatives developed and supported by the Chief Wellness Officer and their staff. Lead community outreach and seek out community partnerships to expand wellness program offerings.

 

Wellness Reward Program

Administer and communicate the Wellness Reward program including communications, system set up and modification, review/approval of wellness reward submissions, responses to team members and coordination with the benefits administration team.

 

Credentials and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, HR or related field. Three years of experience in wellness programming/administration and/or health and wellness promotion. Extensive knowledge of health and wellness topics. Ability to motivate and engage team members and leadership in wellness initiatives. Excellent communication (verbal/written), organizational, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated skills using Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Project management skills and the ability to multitask are required. Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team. General knowledge of human resources practices and understanding how one action may impact wellness initiatives and the integration with benefits. Knowledge of Federal, State and local laws, regulations and agency policies in the creation of wellness programs or incentives affecting HIPAA, EEOC, GINA, ADA, or other laws in the human resources area. Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required.
