Wellness Specialist Position at Parmly on the Lake.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Wellness Specialist will conduct a variety of exercises, and other wellness activities. Responsible for leading
the exercise program, assist with creative planning, processing enrollments into the wellness program, and
setting up appointments.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
ASSIST THE M-POWER WELLNESS DIRECTOR WITH THE PLANNING, IMPLEMENTATION, AND EVALUATION OF A
HOLISTIC WELLNESS PROGRAM WITHIN THE M-POWER CENTER AND ACROSS THE CAMPUS CONTINUUM AND
INTO THE COMMUNITY
• Determine types of wellness/exercise programs necessary to meet individual needs of the
members and to achieve the objectives of the M-Power Center members.
• Under the direction of the Wellness Director, create an exercise regimen specifically designed to each
client’s capabilities.
• Periodically change the flow of classes offered with new exercise routines and music to enhance the
member’s experience.
ORIENTATE NEW CLIENTS TO EACH PIECE OF EXERCISE EQUIPMENT AND PROGRAMS OFFERED
• Explains to members the benefits of strength training.
• Provide information to every new member regarding aquatic and land classes offered.
• Give ongoing feedback to the new client’s regarding their progress.
• Consult with Wellness Director regarding any special needs of members to enhance their fitness routine.
MAINTAIN SAFE AND SANITARY PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT
• Develops and trains for safety plans, ensuring that all fitness equipment and environment is safe,
secure, and clean
• Recommends changes in the interest of effectiveness and proper use of space and equipment.
• Participates in inspections and audits of equipment as needed to maintain safety and
sanitary conditions. Cleans equipment used for programs on a regular basis.
• Able to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including
but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, Resident’s Bill of Rights, OSHA, Universal
Precaution, AWAIR, ERTK, and SDS.
• Report all accidents and injuries to the Wellness Director immediately.
MAINTAINS CURRENT LEVELS OF EDUCATION
• Attends continuing education/in-services pertinent to department and as designated by the M-Power
Wellness Director.
• Ensures renewals of all required certifications as related to specific programs, ie: WSI
Certification, CPR, First Aid certification, as well as Yoga, Tai Chai, Zumba, etc., as job specific.
PROMOTES AND ESTABLISHES HIGH CUSTOMER SERVICE STANDARDS
• Is courteous and cooperative with members, supervisors, and co-workers.
• Able to relate well to the target population.
• Abides by and promotes the Continuous Quality Improvement Program of Monarch Healthcare
Management.
• Promotes a positive and professional image both in the Wellness Center and in the community.
• Maintains positive working relationship with members, the community, and with departments across
the campus.
ESTABLISHES EFFECTIVE STANDARDS FOR MAINTAINING MEMBER RECORDS
• Maintain current member files with appropriate contact, payer source, and preference information.
• Ensure all members attendance is tracked and reported per policy.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
• High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
• WSI, CPR, and First Aid certifications.
