The Wells Trinidad team is looking for a Wells Operations Specialist (WOS) to support the local delivery of well construction (drilling and completion), workover and intervention activities within the Trinidad Region. This role provides support for Wells Operations Manager (WOM) and WSUP with their operational experience in the delivery of high value well execution phases and when the WOM and WSUP workload requirements / schedules merit additional resources.
This role requires 10 – 20% travel to offshore assets.
Key Accountabilities
Works across operations teams to deliver standardisation and best practices by sharing / implementing relevant lessons (both Regional and Global) and by verifying conformance with OMS, Practices and Procedures and compliance with local regulations.
Leads and participates in root cause failure investigations for major Non Productive Time (NPT) events and assures lessons learned are shared with rig teams and embedded in programs to prevent a reoccurrence.
Leverage the RCC for maximum operational support.
Provide WSUP and Wells Site Leader coverage as needed.
Lead new rig intake, upgrades, and modifications.
Responsible for coordinating rig audits, assurance, and verification activities to assure activities are level loaded throughout the year.
Monitors Contractor’s maintenance management systems, with particular emphasis on Safety Critical Equipment (SCE)
Provides operational input to major well planning documents and Technical Review Meetings; specifically Right Scoping, Basis of Designs, End of Well Reports and Detailed Operations Plans by participating in Peer Assists and Reviews, Risk Assessments and Well Planning Workshops.
Provide visible leadership in process safety through active participation in HAZOPs, FMECAs, etc.
Education and Experience
Minimum of a qualified in engineering, science or technical field
15 years+ experience in Well Planning and Operations.
Previous relevant field experience in both well construction and intervention activities and managing well operations (i.e. Wells TL, WSL, or WOS).
Demonstrable HSSE leadership in supervising HSSE compliant operations without sacrificing operational efficiency.
Team oriented and must possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels and across the Region(s).
Well Control Certification Combined Supervisor IADC or IWCF in the relevant field.
HUET training for locations that require helicopter transit to the wellsite.
Previous BP Wells experience
Delivery as leader of Interventions program within last 5 years at bpTT
Delivery of Rig SV/OS/Audit program, including managing central Team visits to TT
Delivery of Rig based technical optimization of equipment, HSE, and procedural programs
Previous certification as BP Supt/WOS Assessment highly preferred
