As integral part of Shell Technology (PTX), the Brazil Technology team is responsible for the formulation and execution of a technology portfolio that meets the levy obligation while at the same time delivering material value to Shell Brazil and Group from these investments. PTX provides an opportunity to strengthen the ability of the team to drive more value to the Upstream assets primarily focused on the prolific pre-salt fields.

The Wells Technology team is focused on Drilling, Completions, Production Optimization and Intervention and Abandonment disciplines. The portfolio of projects is largely executed by Brazilian based companies.

What is the Role?

As Wells Research Engineer, the individual will be a key member of Wells Technology team reporting to the Wells Engineering Manager. The role is responsible to lead planning and execution of Wells R&D and technology projects and provide operators/content knowledge and technical advice to external partners in academia and service companies who are co-development partners of the projects, specifically:

•             Lead the technical management of relevant service provider and university contracts and support the contracting and procurement strategy.

•             Drive the identification, development, and implementation of new technologies for improving upstream cost/carbon competitiveness.

•             Responsible for managing budget, schedule, contract, and supplier interfaces.

•             Drive alignment of technology deployment with business/asset stakeholders in Non-Operated and Operated Ventures in Brazil, also identifying global replication opportunities with Global Wells Organization.

•             Meet ANP levy regulation requirement /compliance and improving efficiency.

•             Implement / Practice new way of working as commercial thinking, agile, and system engineering.

What We Need from You

•             Oil & gas industry professional with +7 years of relevant Intelligent Completions experience. Degree in discipline engineering.

•             Solid project management skills with proven ability to deliver wells technology new product development projects. Knowledge about TECOP (technical and non-technical) risks management and commercial acumen. Experiences cover both qualification and deployment phases.

•             Hands on knowledge/experience about ANP levy regulation and levy project scoping, contracting and delivery.

•             Strong interpersonal, team working, deliver through others, communication skills.

•             Demonstrated ability to drive & champion HSSE best practice in the projects & labs.

•             Demonstrated ability to create and maintain positive relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

•             Demonstrated ability in managing technology development through working with external partners and in driving value delivery.

•             Strong desire to step up, take responsibility and adapt or challenge new ways of working.
