Microtransit Outreach Ambassador

The Microtransit Outreach Ambassador provides continuous and consistent customer service to all passengers and future passengers in relation to WeRIDE Microtransit. The Ambassador will primarily assist riders with education related to utilizing the Microtransit Service, not limited to participating in outreach events at community centers, parks, schools, onboard buses, and high traffic shopping plazas. The Ambassador is a full working level position that works independently throughout all of the WeRIDE Service Zones.

Key Responsibilities:

Assists riders with general questions related to the service, and potential riders who are interested in the service. This includes explaining how the service works and is different than fixed route, paratransit, or TNC rideshare like service. Consistently rides the fixed route bus service throughout the service zones to educate riders onboard the bus to the Microtransit transfer process, downloading the app, and booking a ride. Assists with service changes in relation to fixed route service modifications where new Microtransit will be supplemented to prepare riders of the changes. Answers passenger inquiries and maintains a courteous and friendly demeanor at all times.  Maintains an expert knowledge of the Microtransit and Bus system. Attends outreach events and may present on behalf of the cities.Works closely with the cities on resolving rider feedback inquires related to service improvements and rider education. Distributes service-related materials (i.e. business cards, brochure pamphlets) to local businesses, medical centers, and resource centers. Ensures a commitment to safety through consistent and professional behaviors in performance of all job functions.Recommends service improvements through weekly feedback sessions with the cities. Quality checks the rider app functionality when new zones, stops or systematic changes are introduced. Participates in training campaigns related to service operations, and the software provider.Assists the city with marketing campaigns to promote the service.Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

21 years or olderThe Ideal candidate will have a minimum (2) years’ experience in the transit industry and superior customer service skills.Excellent communication & customer service skills. Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.


Physical Requirements:
The essential functions of this position require the ability to:
• Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations. 
• Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); 
• Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level
• Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
