Miller Brother Staffing has the need for an experienced Wet Spray Painter for Mid-Shift shift in Reading, PA.
Pay Rate – $20/hour
Shift: Monday – Friday
10:30am-7pm
3 most important things: Must have automotive or industrial painting experience Seeking candidates that are reliable to show up to work when scheduled Experience applying ceramic paint a plus but not required
Job Summary:
The Spray Painter is a position which includes washing, basic rigging, paint prepping, painting, general maintenance and more. The roles and responsibilities change day to day and can vary based on the client’s needs. A painter will be constantly challenged with new products and new processes because of the custom projects that we do. Coating systems can vary drastically depending on the clientele. We take pride in originality and go out of our way to do projects that are unique, special and have not been done before. Expect a lot of varieties of products and work.
Responsibilities Prep the Substrate for paint by applying a mechanical etch (sand/media-blasting) Wash the Substrate with a chemical etching solution (Alumi-Prep/Phosphate Solution) Force dry the Substrate with compressed air and fans. Masking, plugging holes, etc, any paint prep required. Place or Rig Substrate on table or hanging rig as desired or required for painting application.. Place item in Paint Queuing line and prioritize work in order as needed. Paint item/Substrate. Place item in designated drying area/or/Force Dry. Deliver item/Substrate to designated area. Cleaning and Maintenance of equipment and area. (Multiple Miscellaneous tasks) Qualifications Minimum 2 yrs. Of experience with automotive and/or industrial coatings application. Basic knowledge on paint equipment and paint-booth operation. Familiarity with varieties of different metal abrasive treatments. (Examples: Media -blasting, Chemical Etching, Degreasers, etc.) Demonstrated ability to use, mix, and spray Automotive and/or Industrial Urethane Coatings, water and Solvent based Coating Systems. (Examples- Acrylic Cross-Linked Polymers, Epoxy and polymer Primers, Urethane base coats, Automotive Urethane Clear Coats, Polyurethane Floor Sealers, etc.) Ability to work with custom paint applications in a fast-paced, changing environment. Will be using a large variety of products. Must be willing to learn new concepts/skills/processes. Our work is custom and varies drastically upon different clients. Must have reliable transportation. Good Attendance. Must be on time for scheduled work shifts. Must be willing to work over-time. Will be expected to “Power-Wash” parts for paint prep and/or fabrication at times. (Will occasionally be in a wet environment) Must be a Team Player and have a positive attitude. Must have the ability to multi-task and re-prioritize work/tasks in progress. Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds. Must be able to squat, bend, twist, kneel, and stand for duration of shift.
