Our growth offers an exciting opportunity for a Soil Scientist in our Natural Resources group. This position requires a high focus on resource and workload planning and successful delivery of Environmental Projects.  The implementation of project scopes of work related to environmental investigations. These scopes may include wetland delineation, wetland permitting, agency coordination, non-environmental permitting tasks, environmental inspections, or site assessment activities.

 

Responsibilities Include:

Delineating and characterizing wetlands and waterbodies. Assisting to write and submit Environmental Assessments as part of NEPA reviews. Writing wetland delineation reports and other technical reports for client and regulatory agency review. Assisting with the coordination and management of environmental permitting, assessment, and/or compliance work related to various federal and state permitting submittals. Other technical duties may include wetland mitigation monitoring, invasive species management, and species-specific surveys. Perform and/or assist in T&E studies such as Phase I bog turtle surveys. Working with our Site Assessment team to learn and complete Phase I Environmental Site Assessments. Attending client and regulatory agency meetings (virtual and/or in-person) and providing recommendations and input. Perform PNDI searches and conduct agency coordination.

Required Experience:

BS Degree in Biology, Ecology, or Environmental Science or related scientific or technical field. 3-7 Years of active wetland delineation experience WPIT, PWS or willingness to become a PWS. Ability to access remote locations and sites for active field work in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, wet weather). Flexibility to travel, when needed, to support regional office objectives and project needs. Familiarity in GIS Intermediate to advanced GIS knowledge is a plus.
