The primary objective of this position is to support the effective implementation of the workface planning program on projects in accordance with the Workface Planning Implementation Plan and relevant WFP contract attachment requirements.
Common Responsibilities: Promote WFP objectives and practices throughout the project. Meet position Objectives and Key Performance Indicators. Maintain a commitment to ‘Zero Incident & Injuries’.
Specific Responsibilities: Assist in the implementation of the project WFP program across all targeted areas in collaboration with construction managers, superintendents, and Contractors WFP teams. Support the development and execution of the Workface Planning Implementation Plan. Coordinate IWP (Installation Work Package) activities in alignment with the Path of Construction, CWP (Construction Work Package) Installation Sequence Plan, and Schedule. Participate in IWP scoping sessions, constraint removal sessions, and IWP closeout meetings. Aid WFP Facilitators and Contractor WFP planners in developing and assembling IWPs, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency at the Workface. Audit IWPs for completeness and compliance. Review Contractors WFP procedures for program compliance. Conduct audits against Company procedures and Contractor’s procedures throughout the project. Collaborate with construction schedulers and coordinators to ensure the CWP release review process is functioning properly. Work with the Engineering organization and constructability team to align CWPs and IWPs sequences. Ensure the availability and accuracy of data required to build IWP packages. Facilitate and expedite the removal of construction constraints throughout the Project. Liaise with SC administrators to align automation efforts with WFP requirements. Assist the Project Controls Team in aligning their data management and reporting structure with Workface Planning. Help define and arrange WFP training requirements for construction teams, clients, and Contractors. Maintain good IWP record keeping in accordance with WFP department guidelines and procedures. Contribute to lessons learned and risk review sessions on Workface Planning throughout the project. Assist the WFP manager as required. Ensure common tracking tools are used and that Contractors comply with WFP reporting requirements.
Required Knowledge and Skills: Familiarity with Workface Planning techniques. Basic understanding of project scheduling and estimating techniques. Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and facilitation skills. Strong organizational and documentation skills. Effective oral and written communication skills in English.
Education: Higher Education Certification (HND, HNC, or equivalent). Knowledge of health, environment, and safety (HES) industry best practices. Knowledge of several construction trade disciplines or discipline specialty. General knowledge of engineering processes related to WBS, Path of Construction Development, Constructability, and CWP development. General knowledge of materials management systems and procedures.
Work Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience on industrial construction projects in roles such as General Foreman, Superintendent, Field Engineer, or other construction project specialist roles.
