The Kitchen Lead will be responsible for the day-to-day operations in the kitchen, including staffing, training, scheduling, inventory management, and compliance adherence. This role requires competence in a fast-paced environment, strong leadership skills, and the ability to effectively interact with patients and other members of the Team to ensure a positive culture and the best possible patient experience for our clientele. You will be reporting directly to the Kitchen Manager.

THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Kitchen Lead provides oversight for daily operations and staff across both the formulation/filling area and kitchen. This position is responsible for managing staff, schedules, inventory, sanitation, quality control, coordinating product testing, creating items in METRC, allocating distillate for edible formulation, uploading test results, recipe development, ensuring compliance, assigning tasks, and coordination with extraction and packaging teams. The Kitchen Lead will lead the team to produce high-quality, consistently dosed infused edibles.

GENERAL JOB DUTIES:Supervise activities of cooks, assistants, and other kitchen personnelCreate schedules, assign tasks, and oversee work to meet production needsTrack inventory of ingredients, supplies, and final productsCreate new products and build recipes in METRC inventory tracking systemDevelop and test new edible recipes aligned with company brandsEnsure standardized recipes are followed consistentlyOversee accurate measurements and dosing of cannabis oils, concentratesCoordinate lab testing of all infused products for potency and contaminantsLead continuous improvement of processes, efficiency, and outputMaintain sanitation and cleanliness of kitchen equipment and facilitiesConduct quality control checks and troubleshoot issuesCoordinate with the extraction team on oil supplies and specificationsMaintain kitchen logs, production records, safety proceduresEnsure strict adherence to all regulations, safety guidelines, and company policiesKeep updated on food safety regulations and cannabis compliancePromote safe work environment and adhere to all policies and guidelinesEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Must be 21+ years old and pass background checks2+ years in highly regulated industry such as food, pharmaceuticals, or cannabisExperience in high-volume food productionKnowledge of cannabis laws, regulations, and complianceExcellent organizational, communication, and leadership skillsAbility to work independently and lead a teamAttention to detail and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesWillingness to handle physical tasks and operate kitchen equipmentPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Occasionally Twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel/crawlThe ability to communicate orally with management and other co-workers is crucial. Sitting or standing for extended periods is common. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents. Some heavy lifting may be required.
