Wheelchair Seating Specialist - Non Certified

Job Description:

Under the direction of a Certified Seating and Positioning Specialist, provides wheelchair services to patients in the areas of sales, fitting, assembly, repair and distribution of custom wheelchairs, seating systems, power wheelchairs, scooters, and all other rehabilitation equipment and supplies.

Schedule: Monday - FridayHours: 8:00am - 5:30pm

Job Essentials

Under the direction of a Certified Seating and Positioning Specialist, conducts patient assessment and evaluation with physician and therapist to ensure that the proper equipment, fittings and modifications are obtained to meet the medical needs of the patient as prescribed.

Works with referral source to ensure all necessary information is obtained for appropriate reimbursement.

Under the direction of a Certified Seating and Positioning Specialist, coordinates ordering, assembly and repairs of chairs and equipment.

Under the direction of a Certified Seating and Positioning Specialist, follows-up with patient and/or parent to determine if changes in equipment are required due to changes in the patient's condition.

 Provides ongoing training, adjustments and reassurance as required to ensure customer satisfaction and transition to independence.

Writes proposals including demographics, and specifications for wheelchair and billing information for wheelchairs and related services.

Under the direction of a Certified Seating and Positioning Specialist, provides in-services education to patients, physicians, therapists, nurses and home care staff on all equipment use, features and cost.

Maintains specific knowledge of custom wheelchair and rehabilitation equipment. Acts as a liaison between Homecare's wheelchair department and all Intermountain facilities.

Minimum Qualifications

Possess a valid driver's license with a safe driving record.Bachelor's degree. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verifiedThree years of experience in a rehab field.andDemonstrated understanding of all Rehab equipment.Demonstrated understanding of disabilities and debilitating diseases.

Preferred Qualifications

PT/OT Strongly preferredDemonstrated experience with Icentra and CPR+.Two years of experience in the provision of medical equipment and supplies.

Physical Requirements:

Carrying, Hearing, Listening, Lifting, Pulling, Pushing, Seeing, Sitting, Speaking, Squatting, Kneeling, Standing, Walking.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. 

$28.15 - $43.42
