Job Overview The Whey Operator is responsible for assisting the Whey Evaporator and Dryer Operator in the whey processing operation. Job Responsibilities • Operate and clean the AMVR Evaporator in automatic and manual modes. • Operate and clean the TFD and MSD spray dryers. • Perform lab work as required. • Recognize deficiencies in product. • Operate equipment in preparation for cream shipments. • Troubleshoot and solve any productions problem during operation. • Keep all records accurate and up to date. • Keep equipment and plant in condition that will meet all regulatory agency requirements. • All GLC employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures. • All GLC employees are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program. • Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager. The pay for this position is $25.05 - $25.60. All offers will be based on a candidate’s skills, prior relevant experience, applicable degrees and certifications, and internal equity. This range is specific to New York and may not be applicable to other locations. Required Education and Experience • Ability to adapt to change quickly. • Ability to understand the basic operation of evaporator and dryer and be capable of making process adjustments to them. • Basic computer skills required. Preferred Education and Experience + High School diploma or GED. + Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and related equipment. + Ability to make minor decisions based on standard practices. + Basic math skills to adjust process changes. + SAP experience. Working Conditions • Ability to constantly stand/walk; bend/flex/extend neck; frequently grip/reach/lift/pull with L/R hands. • Ability to frequently handle material from floor-to-waist, waist-to-shoulder and pushing/pulling/carrying. • Product weight: up to 50 lbs. • Repetitive work in a fast-paced production environment with average temperature of 50-60 degrees F.
