Summary:
Schedule and dispatch transporters for pickup and delivery of fuel products. Duties include using telephone and computer to transmit assignments and compiling statistics and reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Negotiate freight with 100 common carriers’ fleets across the US and work with sales and supply to schedule >30 loads of fuel per day Monitor personnel, equipment, and locations to direct delivered loads on schedule. Schedule or dispatch drivers to appropriate locations, according to customer requests, specifications, or needs. Oversee all communications within specifically assigned territories. Relay work orders, messages, or information to or from drivers, supervisors, or terminals, using telephones or email. Confer with customers or supervising personnel to address questions, problems, or requests for pickup and delivery. Prepare daily work and run schedules. Record and maintain files or records of customer requests, work or services performed, charges, expenses, inventory, or other dispatch information. Receive or prepare work orders. Determine types or amounts of equipment, vehicles, materials, or personnel required, according to work orders or specifications. Advise personnel about traffic problems, such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions, or other hazards. Arrange for necessary repairs to restore service and schedules. Ensure timely and efficient movement of product, according to product orders and schedules. Order supplies or equipment and issue them to personnel.Requirements:
