We currently have a vacancy for a Workplace, Health, and Safety (WHS) – Coordinator to join the Amazon AU AMZL Team. This position is within DNS2 delivery station, reporting the AMZL WHS manager.
This role is open to anyone who has a particular interest in work health and safety and requires working with the WHS team to deliver high standards of safety within delivery station. The suitable applicant will be trained in both the standard work and tools used within the WHS function. You will be a strong communicator, who values teamwork, is proactive about safety and who can function as a role model and engage professionally with the entire delivery station workforce.
Key job responsibilities
- Safety Guardian: Conduct risk assessments and implement control measures to create a secure work environment.
- Knowledge Navigator: Guide associates and managers on safety procedures and legal requirements, always staying within your expertise.
- Compliance Champion: Be the eyes and ears of safety, ensuring our Fulfillment Centre adheres to company safety protocols.
- Program Implementer: Bring regional WHS management programs to life at the site level.
- Incident Investigator: Uncover root causes of incidents and craft action plans to prevent recurrence.
- Data Steward: Maintain meticulous records of safety-related events, from near-misses to 'Safety Saves'.
- Legislation Liaison: Participate in action plans to ensure ongoing compliance with safety regulations.
- Confidentiality Keeper: Maintain discretion in sensitive safety investigations.
- Dock and Yard Defender: Oversee safety procedures in these crucial areas.
- Safety Educator: Conduct engaging WHS training sessions for all team members.
- Flexibility Ace: Be ready to adjust your schedule to cover shifts and address escalations as needed.
Ideal Candidate:
- Recent graduate with a safety degree, or
- Safety professional with 1-3 years of hands-on experience
