WHS On The Road (OTR) Safety, Workplace Health and Safety (WHS)
Description We’re looking for a talented On the Road (OTR) Safety to join our team. You’ll be passionate about partnering with the business to ensure safety OTR risks are managed. This is a brand-new role and we will expect you to continue to drive our Amazon Work Health Safety (WHS) culture with the site leaders, DSP and Channel team, and be instrumental in embedding Amazon Road Safety policies and processes and ensure compliance to all applicable local legislative obligations. By leveraging lean principles and kaizens, you will lead continuous improvement to ensure a safe and healthy working environment for our Associates. A successful OTR Safety Program Manager will demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with Operations and DSP Team and inspire change through providing comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis. The WHS OTR Safety must be an effective communicator and send clear, concise and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing. You will instruct and train Operations and DSP Leaders in Amazon OTR Safety policies and assist the site teams in incorporating our safety standards at their site. You will work to identify best practices and incorporate these standard methodologies into our standards to continuously improve the OTR safety landscape. You will possess excellent safety program knowledge and be able demonstrate this expertise when working with Operations. Key job responsibilities - Support the growth and consolidate of On Road Safety area in AMZL across the Last Mile network. - Be responsible for analyze safety metrics and review incident trends to rationalize the allocation of appropriate resources to areas where the WHS risk is highest. - Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance to all applicable Amazon WHS Policies and Global Standards. Develop local site WHS procedures and processes to meet Amazon Global Standards. - Work with the ROW implementation Manager and Global On Road Safety teams to automate reports to support Operation Teams. - Partner with ACES and Learning teams to develop and provides appropriate road training courses and observation, as required, to ensure drivers’ adherence to policy and training procedures. - Partner with ACES team to deply Citadel Project in safety initiatives and tools. - Partner with Austin (internal safety incident reporting and action tracking system) developers to ensure WHS systems are designed with On Road relevant inputs and metric outputs are borne in mind when forms are developed. - Engage and work with third party service providers (DSPs) and carriers of transportation services and personnel transportation suppliers to strengthen compliance with on-road safety requirements. - Carry out sensitivity analysis and create decision models for optimal utilization of existing data, to identify risk, manifest opportunities, and prevent the occurrence of similar incidents. - Develop, initiate and support On The Road WHS strategic programs for continuous improvement. - Act as the WHS BRA POC for On The Road Safety matters and work across the Last Mile and Middle Mile in a cross-functional environment, and maintain a strong communication process to ensure smooth and efficient flow of accurate information. - Periodically review the OTR incidents reported on quality reporting, corrective actions and closure. Provide gap assessment to site team - Lead OTR safety tech implementation and other OTR initiatives as per roadmap - Ability to travel 50% of time and flexible with working in shifts Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering , Sience or related field; Experience with Safety On The Road field; Fluent Portuguese and advanced English; Ability to travel 50% of time and flexible with working in shifts. Preferred Qualifications Prior road safety experience or in similar domain Strong communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment and customer focus skills Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy.
