This Program Specialist Lead WIC Nutrition & Breastfeeding Coordinator position will primarily work in Nutrition and Clinic Services including policy development; monitoring, training and technical assistance to local WIC clinics. The Program Specialist Lead develops and administers statewide public health programs in response to state needs and federal grant solicitations. Responsibilities include: 1) Developing evidence-based public health policies and interventions; 2) Developing and implementing health surveillance and data collection systems to track, analyze and evaluate programs and services; 3) Coordinating program strategic planning and facilitating stakeholder groups; and 4) Planning and coordinating program outreach, training and support. * * *Why Join DPHHS* * * Our mission at DPHHS is serving Montanans in their communities to improve health, safety, well-being, and empower independence. In addition, DPHHS is the largest state agency with a wide range of advancement opportunities whether you are joining the workforce or have several years of experience. *Qualifications for this Career Opportunity*** * * * Knowledge of public health program management principles and practices. * Knowledge of public health interventions and quality improvement. * Ability to research, develop, and implement public health interventions. * Ability to facilitate stakeholder meetings. * Meet minimum qualifications: o Bachelor’s degree in nutrition (preferred), nursing, health education, early childhood development/education or other behavioral or social science related field. o Two years of job related public health program experience including contracts and direct training experience. o Candidate must hold credentials as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or be eligible to sit for and pass the RD exam within 12 months. o Preferred candidate will hold a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) or an International Board of Lactation Constant (IBCLC) credential. o Experience evaluating, developing, and writing grant responses preferred. o Other combinations of directly related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis. * * *How to Apply*** To be considered for a DPHHS position, submit the following required documents with your application on the State of Montana Careers website.
