Job Description

The WIC Assistant (WA) is an important part of the WIC team serving as a primary contact for participants, visitors and staff.  The WA consistently strives to exceed customer expectations, ensuring participants receive a positive customer experience, maintaining confidential information and ensuring that the program meets quality standards. This is front desk position for the WIC program, serving as a primary clinic contact greeting both internal and external customers. Obtains, prepares, and organizes information provided by participants and is thorough in collecting and distributing the program information and benefits.

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent. 

Strong interpersonal skills in order to provide excellent customer service.

An understanding of and ability to maintain the confidentiality required.

Demonstrate rapport building skills by establishing and maintaining effective working relations with WIC participants, WIC team members and other health and social service personnel.

Basic computer skills and literacy required for daily data entry. 

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual competency preferred.
