We are currently looking for a Part TIme WIC Peer Counselor to join our team. The position would be responsible for promoting breastfeeding and providing basic breastfeeding education to pregnant and breastfeeding mothers.

Responsibilities Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their      job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workersDelivers a high level of customer service to assure positive patient experienceProvides basic breastfeeding information and support to new mothersProvides follow-up communication with all mothers in the caseloadCounsels WIC breastfeeding customers in the home, community, hospital, pediatric clinics or by phone as determined by the supervisorMaintains accurate records of all client contacts and keeps all information      confidentialAdheres to the organization’s policy in regards to absenteeism and appearanceOmission of specific duties does not exclude them from this position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment for this position Qualifications Past or present breastfeeding experienceExperience with culturally diverse populationMust have completed the WIC Peer Counselor trainingStrong communication, customer service and interpersonal skills 

Working Conditions/Physical Demand:  Busy clinic environment at various locations in the community, ability to transport and carry work related supplies
