DESCRIPTION
Seeking a team player passionate about nutrition with superstar level customer service skills who can build rapport quickly!
About the Position
This position certifies clients for participation in the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC Program). Performs a basic health screening including obtaining height, weight, and hemoglobin. Provides individualized nutrition counseling, nutrition care plans and referrals to community resources. Promotes and supports breastfeeding. Facilitates nutrition and breastfeeding classes. Services provided in person by phone and through video. This position is cross-trained to provide office assistant duties also. The WIC program offers extensive training and mentoring for this position.
About the Division
Lane County WIC is the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children. This public health program is designed to improve health outcomes and influence lifetime nutrition for families. Nutrition education is the cornerstone of the WIC Program. WIC provides services to income eligible pregnant and postpartum individuals as well as to families with infants or children under the age of five.
Schedule: Monday: 10:00am - 7:00pm; Tuesday - Friday: 8:00am - 5:00pm

QUALIFICATIONS
Training:
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in nutrition, health, dietetics, education or a related field.
Experience:
+ Two years progressively responsible work experience in a health care setting, educational or social service setting which includes, or is supported by coursework in, nutrition education.
An equivalent combination of experience and training demonstrating the required knowledge and abilities, is qualifying.

Health insurance coverage becomes effective the first of the month following your first 30 days as an eligible employee.
Medical/Rx/Vision - Lane County offers medical, prescription and vision exam coverage for you and your eligible dependents. The plan options and costs per month for 2018 are outlined below:
If you enroll in the HDHP the County will contribute to your HSA: $1,500 (individual) or $3,000 (family) annually. This amount is prorated based on date of hire.
Eligible employees who complete a Health History Risk Assessment (HHRA), Biometric Screening, and Comprehensive Health Review (CHR) at the Live Well Center receive a $20 per month credit.
Wellness Clinic - The Live Well Center is for Lane County benefits-eligible employees, spouses and dependents (ages 2 and up) who are enrolled in the Lane County health plan.
