WIC Nutritionist

Provides individual assessment and counseling on nutrition and health to WIC (Women, Infants, Children) participants. Provides food prescription and promotes breastfeeding. Facilitates classes on specific nutrition topics to groups of participants. Makes appropriate referrals to other health and social service agencies. Documents in WIC ACCESS computer system

Work requires knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Nutritional Science or closely related field and one to two years of previous work related experience required.  Approval by NJ WIC Services. Work requires the ability to counsel and educate patients and their families, assign and follow up on the work of other employees, or perform other duties requiring a comparable level of communication skill.
