KBR is seeking a Wideband Satellite Communication System Subject Matter Expert (SME) that has a comprehensive knowledge of Wideband satellite communications systems, satellite transmissions, management, satellite system control, and operational procedures. In this position, you will:

Provide operations, sustainment, and engineering technical analysis and support for the SpOC Enterprise SATCOM architecture for Wideband SATCOM systemsReview, coordinate, and advise on SATCOM operating processes and procedures and provide technical support of material system development and fieldingProvide technical operational/engineering expertise for resolution of operational issues/problems related to space, ground and terminal segmentsDevelop and interpret broad DOD Space, and Satellite communications policies and regulations, existing policies, and regulations in relation to HQ USSF program goals and objectivesProvide analysis and recommended methods for improving efficiency of satellite communications functions through modifications and applications of evolving technology, developing tactics, techniques, and proceduresAnalyze technical functions of satellite payloads and ground station architectures, especially in the areas of Spectrum Management and Electro-Magnetic Interference ResolutionTravel may be required for limited durations to support Customer events.

Work Environment:

Location: On-site at a government installation in Colorado Springs, COTravel Requirements: Minimal less than 10%Working Hours: Standard

Required Skills/Experience:

3 years of SATCOM Wideband experience: Wideband Consolidated SATCOM System Expert (C-SSE), Wideband Satellite Operations Center (WSOC), USASMDC, SIOD (SATCOM Integrated Operations Division), 53 SOPS, 4 SOPS, or Regional SATCOM Support Center (RSSC)Headquarters level staffing experienceExperience with providing strategic advice, technical guidance, analysis and recommendations.Demonstrated ability to prepare quality products including briefings and staff packages for senior leaders.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to multi-task and turn staff products rapidly in a dynamic environment.Proficiency with MS Office Suite.Ability to work with both internal and external senior leaders, offices, directorates, and action officers.Able to work with, and appropriately protect, classified and proprietary informationMethodical mindset: Able to follow troubleshooting protocols, solve problems and clearly document solutionsExcellent attention to detailActive TS/SCI clearance is MANDATORY

Preferred Skills/Experience:

Experience with Wideband SATCOM systems/platforms (e.g. DSCS, WGS)Headquarters experience in the US Space Force, US Air Force, Combatant Command, Space Operations Command, Space Systems Command or equivalentExperience with Joint- or Service-level strategy and/or concept developmentExperience with Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) processesBA/BS Degree

Compensation:

$95,000– $140,000 annually

This range is for the Colorado Springs, CO area only 

 

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity

Scheduled Weekly Hours:

40 hours

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation maby be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance
