The Wine Specialist will demonstrate the following key characteristics:

Master Your Craft:

At Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo, we believe in enriching life and work through meaningful connections with people and the environment. As a Wine Specialist / Sommelier, you will oversee the wine program, ensuring exceptional service and high standards in wine selection and presentation. You will lead and motivate the team, maintain strong relationships with guests, and collaborate with the DOFB / ADOFB and the culinary team, fostering a positive, team-oriented environment. Flexibility, strong leadership, and a passion for excellence are key to succeeding in this role. Additionally, you will focus on developing a comprehensive wine program, including wine selection, inventory management, and staff training. You will also create unique wine experiences for guests, such as tastings and pairings, improve wine sales in food and beverage outlets and the wine program for banquets, and keep rotation of product to ensure freshness and variety

Desired Skills and Experience:

Minimum 2 years of luxury experience in food and beverage operations and hospitality management.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards

What you will do:

Oversee the wine program, ensuring high-quality service and wine standards.

Engage and motivate the team to achieve revenue goals.

Schedule, train, and motivate the team.

Maintain relationships with regular guests and cultivate new ones.

Collaborate with the DOFB / ADOFB and culinary team to provide feedback on regular and seasonal menus.

Drive marketing/PR activities and wine promotions.

Build an open and trustful environment where everyone’s opinion is valued.

Coordinate personal training to ensure high service levels and productivity.

Lead by example, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Participate in employee relations activities and programs.

Invest in team career development through coaching and training.

Uphold the Golden Rule in all interactions with external and internal customers.

Use your unique personality and service style to create memorable experiences for guests.
