Wintel Engineer - Leeds (Hybrid)

We are seeking a highly skilled Wintel Engineer to join our team in Leeds, specializing in Windows Server, VMware, Hyper-V, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) for our BFSI Cluster. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Active Directory, Certificate Management, Patch Management, Scripting (Python, PowerShell, Terraform, or Ansible), and Cisco UCS B & C Class. Strong proficiency in Storage and Backup solutions is essential.

 

The Role:

Design, implement, and manage Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) environments in on-premises and cloud infrastructures Deploy and administer virtualized environments using VMware, Hyper-V, and cloud-based solutions Maintain and support Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, and Certificate Management Manage patching, security updates, and compliance using standard patch management tools Develop automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, Terraform, or Ansible to improve system efficiency Support and administer Cisco UCS B & C class servers, including firmware updates and troubleshooting Manage Storage (SAN/NAS) and Backup solutions for optimal performance and disaster recovery readiness Implement and maintain cloud-based infrastructure on Azure, AWS, and GCP, ensuring security, scalability, and cost optimization Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high availability, performance, and resilience of BFSI applications Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and incident resolution for server, storage, and backup issues Maintain documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and best practices for system administration.

 

What you will bring:

Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Wintel Engineer Expertise in Windows Server administration, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting Strong knowledge of VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, and cloud-based virtualization Experience with Active Directory, LDAP, Certificate Management, and authentication mechanisms Hands-on experience in patch management and vulnerability remediation Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, Terraform, or Ansible Expertise in managing Cisco UCS B & C class hardware Strong understanding of enterprise storage (SAN/NAS) and backup solutions (e.g., Veeam, NetBackup, Commvault, Rubrik) Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and cloud migration strategies Basic to advanced Linux administration skills for hybrid Windows-Linux environments Experience with high-availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning Knowledge of IT security policies, compliance standards, and BFSI regulatory requirements Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.

 

Nice to have Qualifications:

Certifications such as MCSE, VCP, AWS/Azure/GCP Certified Solutions Architect, Cisco UCS Certified, RHCE, or Terraform/Ansible certifications Experience in high-availability and disaster recovery solutions for Windows, VMware, and Cloud environments Familiarity with SIEM tools, endpoint security, and vulnerability management.
