Job Summary:

Killington/Pico Ski Resort and the Killington Grand Hotel hosts a variety of banquets such as quaint weddings for 25 people to extravagant weddings for 400, to conferences for 500+ attendees to feeding the 100’s of athletes and coaches for the FIS International Women’s World Cup event! With banquets held in the Ballrooms of the Killington Grand Hotel to the Peak Lodge and everywhere in between, the Banquets team works closely with Events and Food and Beverage Teams to put-on first-class events with unmatched attention to detail and guest service.

Banquet Servers are responsible for greeting, assisting, and serving guests at special functions and events throughout the resort. The banquet Server will help assist with event setups, preparation, and clean up, serve guests, and respond to questions, complaints, and requests.  Banquet servers work as a team to assure guest experiences are pleasant from start to finish. Candidates are courteous, professional, and work well under pressure.

Summary of Key Responsibilities: 

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: 

Interact with guests in a pleasant and positive manner; listen to comments and complaints and respond accordinglySetting up and breaking down event areas: placing tables, chairs, bars, place settings, etc.Take orders and serve food and beverages in a variety of styles: plated, buffet, flash, etc.Ensure clean and tidy areas for serviceAttend pre-shift meetings to ensure events flow smoothlyPrepare coffee breaks, carts, buffets, stations, etc. with appropriate food and beverages as directedGreet all guests and owners warmly with an appropriate greetingHave a good understanding of menu items and be able to communicate products and services to guestsCollect used dishes and utensils from guests and return to dishwashing areaDeliver and serve welcome drinks, food, meals, condiments, and accompaniments etc.Delivering Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for service to your customer’s tablePrepare tables, action stations, buffets, service carts, dessert table/carts, etc.Replenish buffet items to ensure consistency and freshness in presentationRemove china, glassware, silverware, etc. from tables at the conclusion of the meal period and deliver to the dish areaEnsure guest satisfaction throughout the meal serviceEnsure each course are cleared and tables are properly cleanedPerforming basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by captainMonitor tableware to ensure it is presentable to guestsMonitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areasEnsure proper use and storage of all meeting room equipmentEnsure there is proper back up if any equipment is not properly functioningMaintain high standards of safety and cleanliness in all areas of the Meeting RoomsCommunicate any areas of need, problems, and concerns from guest to Banquet CaptainAssist others with side work including cleaning, stocking, folding, silverware, etc.Ensure that meeting rooms are re-set for next eventAdhere to grooming and appearance standards consistentlyAssist fellow team members and other departments wherever necessary to maintain positive working relationships

Basic Qualifications:

Basic education (high school)Vermont Department of Liquor Control Certification required

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Food Service experience preferredAbility to deal with customers and staff in a courteous and efficient mannerWork schedule will vary to include days, nights, holidays, and weekendsMust be able to lift 40 pounds and be on your feet for up to 12 hours
