Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation: Starting rate of $16.50, adjusted based on experience.
Benefits: Part-time, seasonal position eligible for a season pass for employee and privileges at several other resorts. Several discount programs (i.e. food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.) also available.
Job Summary:
Our Junior Instructors are the future of our Mountain Sports team. Come share your passion for skiing/riding while developing your instructor skills. No previous experience is required. Join us as we introduce snow sports to the littlest of the next generation of snow sports enthusiasts.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Serve as assistants to Mountain Sports School supervisors, team leads, and instructors; Junior instructors do not teach classes on their own.
Help with all aspects of Ministars and Youth programs directly relating to the care of the children both on and off the snow.
Set up and take down of teaching area features, dress and undress the children from ski clothing as well as put on and take off ski equipment for children in the Ministars programs.
Assist with fencing and signage set-up for meeting areas
Assist with lunchtime procedures Ministars and Youth programs
Basic Qualifications:
Must be 14-15 years of age
Pursuing high school diploma or equivalent
Meet a 24-day calendar, based around weekends, school breaks and holiday periods
Beginner level or higher ski/snowboard level
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Willingness to work with children ages 4+
Strong communication as well as interpersonal skills
Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time
Ability to do some bending and lifting of small children
Ability to work in all weather conditions
