Winter 24/25: Rental Technician

Location: Killington, Vermont

 Compensation and Benefits:  

Compensation: Starting pay rate of $16.50, actual wage will be adjusted based on experience. 

Benefits: Full-time, seasonal position eligible for a season pass for employee/dependents and privileges at several other resorts. Several discount programs (i.e. food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.) also available.  

Job Summary:

Share the fun and excitement of our mountains by supplying customers with all the equipment needed to enjoy it!  Rental Technicians perform rental shop front desk duties and/or issue and adjust rental ski and snowboard equipment for customers.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Protect company assets

Complete rental forms: distribute forms; review information completed by customer, and correct if necessary; complete additional information, such as correct binding setting and pole size

Assist with cashier duties: operate point of sale system 

Answer a variety of customer questions related to ski equipment rentals as well as general questions about the ski area and refer unusual questions or problems to appropriate staff members

Issue rental skis, poles, boots and/or snowboards, ensuring that each is the proper size and type for the customer's weight, height and ability. Explain rental identification numbers on equipment

Adjust bindings. Certified to work on all bindings used in rental operation

Take in returned skis, check for damage, return to racks

Clean and straighten up shop, organize equipment, be sure there are adequate supplies of rental forms, and perform other general shop maintenance tasks

Provide superior service to our customers (internal and external) at all times. Follow the Resort Etiquette Guidelines while interacting with the guests and respond to all in a courteous, efficient manner

Perform other tasks as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

Basic education (high school) desirable

Basic reading, writing, and math skills

Ability to stand for long periods

Must be able to lift 20lbs frequently

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

General knowledge of ski and snowboard equipment desirable

Ability to deal with all guests courteously and efficiently
