Compensation and Benefits: 

Compensation: Starting pay rate of $17.05, actual wage will be adjusted based on experienceBenefits: Full and part-time seasonal position eligible for a season pass for employee/dependents and privileges at several other resorts. Several discount programs (i.e. food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.) also available. 

Job Summary:

We are looking for customer driven individuals that have broad product knowledge to answer questions and supply guests with accurate product information and help customers make decisions and find resolutions to their needs within the retail shop. The retail sales associate will oversee the daily operations of a small shop/outlet and/or carry out the receiving of merchandise for a retail shop/outlet. 

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Protect company assetsKnow and enforce safety program consistent with company guidelinesBe familiar with and knowledgeable of company policies and proceduresCoordinate and oversee all daily operations of the assigned shop or departmentPerform duties of a working foreman for a staff of one or two sales staff;train new employeesplan, assign and monitor workassist in handling customers with unusual problems or complaintsbring special personnel problems to the attention of supervisor, etc.Perform duties of a receiving clerk;check received merchandise against ordersprocess receiving invoices to accounting officeconfer regularly with accounting to resolve problems or explain special circumstancescontact suppliers regarding incorrect or incomplete shipmentsmaintain files of all vendorsprocess transfers of merchandise to other retail outletsPerform other special tasks, such as:entering new orders into computer systemrunning tickets for all merchandiseorganizing tickets by vendoroverseeing the ticketing of merchandiseperforming other computer data entry work related to inventory transfers, etc.Perform cashier duties:operate cash registertake payment and return correct changeprocess credit card paymentsprocess merchandise returnscash out as requiredAssist customers:locate productsanswer a variety of questions about productsplace special ordersdetermine if merchandise may be returnedhandle problems or complaints, referring to supervisor or other senior staff member if appropriateCheck in and ticket merchandiseStock/restock sale areas with merchandiseReorder stock, or maintain records of items needed to be orderedClean and neaten shopPerform stock inventoriesInform supervisor of items that are popular/unpopularMake up window and other special merchandise displaysOversee work of student clerkProvide superior service to our customers (internal and external) at all times Follow the Resort Etiquette Guidelines while interacting with the guest and respond to all guests in a courteous, efficient mannerPerform other tasks as assigned

Basic Qualifications

Basic education (high school)One to three years of relevant sales experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquiredMust be at least 16 years of ageMust be able to stand for at least 7 hours

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Good, basic reading, writing and math skillsFamiliarity with the specific type of merchandise sold in the shop desirableRetail sales/cash handling experiencePrevious experience with soft goods or hard goods a plus, but not requiredMust be guest service orientedAbility to deal effectively and courteously with customers and other company personnelAbility to train and coordinate/oversee the work of other employees
