The Multisport Coach Counselor position is an integral part of the camper's experience, providing a dynamic platform that is unmatched. You will execute and support all aspects of the program, including overall curriculum and appropriate use of facilities. The goal is to ensure a high level of training and progression, making sure campers are engaged and participating in a responsible manner.

The Multisport Coach Counselor will be in collaboration with coaching and is responsible for the safety, health, and well-being of all campers within assigned cabin throughout the day and from the time they return to the cabin for the evening to when campers are released to instruction the following morning. They will be responsible for assisting campers with any needs or challenges that arise during the week, referring to department leads as needed. This role provides you with the ability to connect with the campers outside of the park setting and enhance the overall experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Including coaching, zone coaching, counseling and recreation activities as assignedAttend and participate in staff training, meetings and touch bases to acquire knowledge for behavior management techniques, emergency evacuation procedures, etc.Ensure campers are acting responsibly, respectfully and following all camp standardsExecute routine daily safety inspections and reporting and cleaning of assigned areasCreate and implement a lesson plan utilizing the Woodward Intuitive Progression System and Progression Tools to ensure campers are learning new skills and meeting goalsAssist with Skateboard Program events and clinicsEvaluate camper skill levels and discuss progression comparisons while providing feedback for ongoing skill developmentMake sure everyone is using the facility in a safe manner, and following proper skatepark etiquetteEngaged, playing music, creating games, developing challenges and assisting campers with skill developmentAssist campers in daily routine including chores, overall cabin/surrounding area cleanliness, travelling to program activities and mealsEnsure each camper's individual needs are met regarding their overall "well-being" (health, safety and wellness)Create a cohesive and positive cabin experience amongst all campers in the cabinLead/Assist with Recreation Activities as scheduledOther duties as assigned.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SPECIAL SKILLS:

Preferred 1+ years of experience working with kids and/or teensExperience working in a camp environment is preferredHigh school degree or equivalent preferredExperience in action sports coaching preferredHealth and Safety CertificationsCPR/First Aid CertificationStrong interpersonal skills. Has the ability to take direction and uphold the company's values

BASIC SCHEDULE/REQUIREMENTS:

FBI and DOJ fingerprint screening required.Physical Capabilities: bend, twist, push, pull, stand, lift 50 lbs.Must be comfortable working in an outdoor and indoor all-season environment.Adhere to all workplace safety practices, expectations, and guidelines.Camp Attendance Requirements:Winter Camp Dec 27th - Dec 31stPreferred minimum 4 -week commitment within summer camp season.Provide work related references upon request.ALL COUNSELORS CPR Certified Required before hire.
