Job DescriptionThe operator monitors the calender banks, adjusts strip widths, and checks wire performance. The operator hand spreads strips of rubber on the front calender bank and climbs ladders to visually inspect.The operator walks to all job stations on calender line ensuring proper operation of machines and crew.Other duties include cutting rubber at the mills and calender during changeovers, occasional lifting and/or carrying objects weighting 50-100 lbs.In addition the operator must complete paperwork for crew sheets and performance reports. This position requires a high level of organization as they will thread calender machinery. 

ENVIRONMENT

Safety is our highest priority and safety procedures/ guidelines must be always adhered to. This includes safety wear such as hearing protection and steel toe shoes. New Hires will likely be placed on a shift that includes evenings and weekends. The job is within a non-climate controlled environment where you will be exposed to temperature swings (hot/cold), forklift and pedestrian traffic, and noise. The role involves various physical tasks, including lifting, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and operating machinery, with comprehensive training provided.

HOURLY PAY

The hourly rate for this position is $27.61 - $29.26 per hour. This position is also eligible for a quarterly incentive program. This role will be eligible for shift differential which is added onto your hourly rate. The additional shift differential is $0.20 per hour for evening shifts, $0.40 per hour for overnight shifts, and $1.00 per hour for weekend shifts. Pay rate is based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
