Wireway Production Operator
SUMMARY:Responsible for the efficient operation of one or more assigned production areas to produce sheet metal wireway parts in accordance to customer drawings, internal sketches, or other forms of instruction.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:Operate in a safe manner.Read and understand operations manuals.Read and understand process instructions and process drawings.Set up each machine and perform first piece inspections.Perform quality inspections of work.Operate shears, punch presses, press brakes, spot welder, roll former, and other fabrication equipment.Use conventional measuring instruments such as tape measures and micrometers.Assemble parts.Operate forklift.Repetitively lift and carry up to 25 pounds.Use SAP to enter production and check availability of material.Maintain a clean and organized work area.Other duties as assigned by the area supervisorThis description will cover most significant duties performed, but does not exclude other occasional work assignments not mentioned, the inclusion of which would be in conformity with the factor degrees assigned to this job.  This job is designed to encompass a range of concurrent and relatively equal responsibilities.POSITION REQUIREMENTS:Ability to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to walk and/or stand for extended periods of time - which may be intermittent at timesAbility to use small hand tools/Pneumatic screw guns repetitively as needed to perform basic job functions.Maintain safety and housekeeping standards within the departmentEQUIPMENT USED:Forklift, PC Terminal, supply carts, band mikes, micrometers, various hand tools, and housekeeping equipment.
