JOB SUMMARY:  While this position reports in to HQ in Frisco, it operates REMOTELY. 

 

Members of the WMS Implementation Team will be responsible for executing the configuration and launch of Blue Yonder WMS.  Team members should be prepared to engage with frontline and administrative associates and demonstrate a high level of comfort meeting new people and spending time in a food warehouse environment.  Due to the nature of WMS implementation, on-site presence is required for many activities, occasionally over weekends. 

 

Travel in the US is required (60-65%) with usual trips of 5-7 days at a time at a location and 4 days home.  

 

This position is intended to lead to a position in operations after the implementations are completed.

Responsibilities

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

Continuous Improvement

 

Become a subject matter expert in the configuration and application of warehouse management systems for QCD operations.Participate in WMS design and configuration for new and existing distribution centers.Support on-site implementation efforts to include physical conditions preparation, go-live execution, and post go-live support.Provide training and application support to business users, focused on developing local WMS expertise. Actively engage with associates in a variety of roles to gather information on challenges and implement solutions. Support the creation of SOPs and work instructions. Provide remote support during post-implementation activities. Provide data driven input for process improvement and design. Facilitate systematic problem solving, implementing solutions to solve root-cause problems.Coach, champion and sometimes lead improvement projects within a distribution centerAssist with project leadership to include identifying opportunities, defining and financially justifying projects, resources, launching product teamsAssist with identifying integration issues with other projects/processes and coordinate the improvements with the appropriate project leader to accomplish project goals.Facilitate processes to identify and implement initiatives/projects that reduce costs and improve services to logistics customers. Provides feedback to the leadership team regarding opportunities in current SOPs and potential changes.Collects and monitors activities to assess trends and opportunities for each business unit (DC) and provide proactive recommendations.Identifies relevant technologies that can improve operations including, safety performance.Communicates with operations and corporate leadership on opportunities and progress.Assists with establishing the measuring and tracking process for each initiative and project and provides timely reports to all stakeholders.Assists with developing synergies across all operations especially with systemwide initiatives.Establishes and manages systems to support “right the first time” culture.Learn and use lean tools and principles including value stream maps, kaizen events and 5-s reviews. Lead and/or facilitate continuous improvement kaizens at distribution centers. Prioritize Kaizen and other tasks. Qualifications

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education/Certification:

 

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, food science, or related field from an accredited college or university.

 

Experience:

Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in a variety of warehouse operations. Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in WMS application (Blue Yonder preferred).

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities to:

 

Project management concepts and techniques Database, Excel, and similar software’sAbility to speak clearly and articulate information effectively both in person and remotely.
