As the Women’s and Infants Health Practice Leader, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of HDR’s Health sector, contributing to a world-renowned global healthcare design practice. We’re seeking a dynamic leader with the passion, expertise, and charisma to inspire staff and clients, drive new business, oversee impactful health projects, and strengthen HDR’s exceptional reputation.
The Women’s and Infants Health Practice Leader will report directly to the Global Health Director and be responsible for collaboratively setting the vision for our focused design practice while helping drive strategic growth throughout our global Health markets. This position will be responsible for assuring that HDR’s health brand is elevated and maintained through industry leading expertise, thought leadership, high quality design, innovative planning, and client service in collaboration with our design delivery teams throughout our practice.
Practice Leader Responsibilities:
Practice Growth and DevelopmentResponsible for strategic business planning and implementation, marketing, business development, talent acquisition, mentoring and professional development.Evaluate, recruit and develop a multidisciplinary team of subject matter experts throughout the firm including health sector leadership, planning, design, and project delivery to lead the continued advancement of the Women and Infants Practice.Strengthen our messaging, culture and presence in the market as it relates to design of industry leading women’s, infants and related facilities.Serve as a thought leader and promote our Women and Infants health practice through industry events, publications, speaking engagements, and special initiatives.Broaden and deepen connections with the Women and Infants health community through client relationship building and industry networking.Develop and implement annual and multi-year business plans in collaboration with health sector leadership.Practice LeadershipWork collaboratively with planning, architecture, and design leadership to establish mutual goals for excellence in Women and Infants planning and design.Advance the firm’s goals for sustainable and regenerative design within the context of our health planning and design.Mentor, advise and recruit health design talent.Project LeadershipWhen appropriate, actively lead projects as Principal-in-Charge, Lead Planner or an appropriate capacity to advise clients, and otherwise add value to our services, the project or team.Develop and nurture strong relationships with key clients which may include individual facilities, systems and instructions throughout our practice.Provide insights, inspiration, and guidance to our healthcare teams delivering Women and Infants and related projects.Health Principal, GeorgiaLead the health strategic business planning and implementation, marketing, business development, and talent acquisition for Atlanta, greater Georgia and surrounding states.Develop and nurture strong relationships with key clients throughout the surrounding health market.Oversee health projects in a leadership role and participate in health sector management as part of the local leadership team.Collaborate with other health leaders in the region to maximize results of all marketing efforts.Participate as a health thought leader in professional organizations locally and throughout the region to increase HDR’s reputation and awareness.Preferred Qualifications
Experience on large-scale health projects
Knowledge and experience within the local and regional health market
Experience with successfully developing and executing targeted market and client strategies
Experience and/or interest in sustainable and regenerative design
Advanced credentialing desired (i.e. ACHA, EDAC, LEED, etc.)
Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related fieldA minimum of 12 years industry experience including leadershipStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong skills in client management, client development and a documented history of growing/leading a practiceStrong business skills; specifically handling budgets, staff and operational issuesStrong ability to analyze the marketplace and strategically position HDRAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
