Women’s Cardiovascular Health Fellow Physician- MD/DO

Inova Schar Heart and Vascular is seeking a candidate for the Women’s Cardiovascular Health Fellowship. Our comprehensive range of world-class women’s cardiovascular health and cardio-obstetrics program provides disease care for female specific risk factors across the lifespan. The program is focused on prevention of maternal morbidity and mortality and early diagnoses and management of heart disease in women across their lifespan. We offer didactic, research and experiential training in Cardio-OB training at the Inova Center of Personalized Health and Inova Women’s Hospital at the Fairfax Medical Campus.

We offer: 

Focused Training in Clinical and Translational Research in sex and gendered based disease processes.  Comprehensive Cardio Obstetrics Training in high-risk CVD in patients and post-partum cardiovascular health  Train the future leaders in cardiovascular disease  in Women with seamless integration of Preventive Cardiology, Cardio-Oncology, Adult Congenital Heart Disease and Heart Failure in women. Fellows are required to participate in Inova Cardiology Fellowship Lectures and Journal Club and have an Original Capstone Project focused on Women’s Cardiovascular Health 

Requirements

The following is required to enter the Corrigan Women's Heart Health Program Fellowship:

Completion and passing of all three United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) steps. Canadian medical school graduates are exempt if they have passed similar exams in Canada. Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Internal Medicine A full Virginia state medical license (limited license if on visa), if accepted into the program A valid Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certificate for all foreign medical graduates H-1 visa for non-U.S. citizens or residents
