Work Experience Insight Days at British Airways are one-day experiences, aiming to inspire the next generation of talent – that’s you! - by giving you a taste of work and the aviation industry.

What does a Work Experience Insight Day at British Airways look like?

Our Work Experience Insight Days are a way for students to gain first-hand experience of working for British Airways. The day will include activities, Q&A panels, workshops, tours, guest speakers and more!!

Our Flight Operations Work Experience Insight Day

Want to know more about the life of a Pilot at British Airways, well now is your chance! On this placement you can expect to hear directly from a number of our amazing flight operations team. You will also be getting involved in workshops and activities to give you a taste of what it is like to become a pilot.

About You

At British Airways, we look out for your potential and attitude, rather than your experience. We can provide the training and help you develop your skills and knowledge, but you need to have that get up and go, positive attitude that we’re looking for in the airline industry.

Applying for an Insight Day

You will need to create a short project on the following question ‘What will travel look like in 50 years?’ based on your thoughts, opinions, and research.

This can be done as a travel poster, or a video, or a newspaper article… or something else, get creative!

Questions to consider: what technology can BA capitalise on, what do future passengers want from travel, how do we ensure the airline is both profitable and sustainable?

Eligibility:

This Flight Operations Work Experience Insight Day is aimed at students, either at school or college (not university).

To apply for a Work Experience Insight Day, you must be:

Be in Year 9/S3 and aboveHave a valid passport

Please ensure if you are successful in your application, that you are willing to travel to Vanguard House adjacent to Heathrow for the Work Experience Insight Day.

Recruitment Process

Step 1: Explore which area of British Airways you’d like to gain an insight into (do your research and speak to our mentors!)

Step 2: Apply via the British Airways careers website and submit a short project (detailed above).

Step 3: We will review all applications for eligibility, let you know via email if you have been successful and confirm next steps.
