The Director of Sales is a newly created position central to Huron’s continued growth strategy. The overarching goal is to retool, refine and drive the go-to-market strategy and sales across all Huron solution offerings within a geography/region and, depending on the candidates particular expertise, within one or more key industry verticals (e.g., Financial Services, Oil &Gas, Technology…etc.). The Director will work with a team comprised of outside and inside sales resources and will draw from our history of innovation and dominance in the space of providing services to the most recognized corporate names in the country. The Director position is multi-faceted. While activities and areas of focus will vary, the Director will allocate 80% of their time in a direct sales capacity leveraging their track-record of originating and closing large engagements within corporations and national/global law firms. Approximately 15% of the Director’s time will be allocated to working with the Global Director of Sales to develop, deploy and deliver a One Huron (all Huron offerings) approach within a set of marquis clients and specific industry verticals.

This will require the Director to utilize well-developed operations skills and organizational IQ to coordinate sales activities across multiple solution offerings and with multiple internal and external stakeholders. Finally, 5% of the Director’s time will be spent on team development, business planning and administrative activities. The Director will carry their own goal for originating new business and revenue/profit achievement. This individual will also be accountable for the sales, revenue and profitability goals of their team. Huron is a highly collaborative environment. Success will require the Director to work with multiple internally with multiple functions and levels including Managing Directors across practice lines, Delivery, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Legal, Technology, Human Resources, and the Executive Leadership Team up to the C-level. Externally, the Director will be brilliant on their feet and will seamlessly adapt their communication, approach, sales strategy and style to maximize impact at all organizational levels up to Managing Partner and C-levels. While exceeding individual and team sales targets is critical, success will also be determined by their results in creating long-term client partnerships and the extent to which they create and fosters a consistent approach to integrating sales across all Huron business areas to create a single, clear and powerful client experience.


Job Description Summary

The Workday Business Development Senior Director (BDD) is a dynamic leader responsible for driving new business opportunities, with a focus on selling digital transformation services for Workday implementations. As a key member of Huron’s Workday Education and Research (EDR) team, the BDD engages with higher education clients to position and deliver Workday solutions, including HCM/Payroll, Finance, and Student.

This role emphasizes exceptional relationship management and proactive client engagement to support sales and account acquisition. The BDD maintains regular contact with existing and prospective clients through various channels, including phone, email, and in-person meetings, ensuring a high level of service and responsiveness. Responsibilities include managing staffing requests, responding to RFPs, and identifying new business opportunities to expand Huron’s service offerings.

Collaboration is at the core of this role. The BDD works closely with Managing Directors, Principals, and delivery architects to communicate the value of Huron’s services. As a trusted representative of the organization, the BDD builds and nurtures strong partnerships with clients, consultants, and Workday stakeholders, ensuring mutual success and satisfaction.

Job Description

You'll be responsible for:

Sales of Workday Consulting services, including Student implementations, by developing new accounts and expanding existing ones within a specific geographic territory, industry, product segment, or channel.Meaningfully engaging with EDR C-Suite to include CIO, CHRO, CFO, & Provost. Also engaging with other VP, Director, and Manager level executives as deemed appropriate.Collaborating internally with Huron Managing Director’s and Solution Architects, building quality working relationships through strong collaboration and open lines of communication.Networking and developing strong business relationships with customers such that they turn to Huron as a trusted solution provider.Prospecting for new opportunities both within the channel (Workday) and direct territory.Prospecting and growing the sales pipeline, generating qualified leads, submitting proposals to the client utilizing a broad knowledge of Huron’s service offerings.Working closely with experienced Workday architects and delivery professionals to align Huron’s solutions to the client’s needs.Effectively leading and executing complex sales cycles from deal qualification, deal strategy, competitive analysis, and contract negotiating.A minimum of 5 years of experience in a sales hunter role in the IT professional services or management consulting industries.Demonstrated expertise, history of sustained success and a strong network within the Workday market.
