As the Workers’ Compensation (WC) Claims Specialist, you will be the subject matter expert on the management, implementation, and championing of Pacific Seafood’s workers’ compensation insurance programs. You will be responsible for the continuous development of workers’ compensation policies and procedures as well as the effective implementation and evaluation of these policies. You will maintain an appropriate level of awareness, knowledge, and preparedness across the organization to minimize risk and balance associated costs. You will be adept at communication and collaboration and will work alongside the Benefits and Compensation leadership team to ensure consistency and compliance. You will provide critical technical assistance, professional knowledge, and expertise in the administration and support of the company’s goals at preventing injuries, reducing time loss, and keeping our team members safe and healthy at work.
Key Responsibilities:Develop, implement, facilitate, and evaluate workers’ compensation claims management programs.Facilitate all required data collection, documentation, maintenance, reporting, and training for claim programs.Track and analyze workers’ compensation claim details to ensure accuracy, compliance, and validity.Coordinate rebate programs and maximize opportunities to reduce claims and insurance costs.Manage quarterly claims reviews and coordinates appropriate follow-up.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual claim reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.Assist the Benefits & Comp Manager in serving as senior management’s workers’ compensation subject matter expert.Provide direction for claims management policies, programs, and processes. Stay up-to date on developments in law, regulation, policy, practice, and technology to ensure that the company remains on the cutting edge of best, most effective, and most efficient claims practices. Maintain all documents, logs, and permits in accordance with internal and regulatory requirements.Maintain regular communication with Divisional HR team members and leaders regarding claims management. Perform other duties, as assigned. What You Bring to Pacific Seafood:
Required:Bachelor’s degree in business administration or other relevant fields or,A minimum of 3 years’ experience managing workers compensation claim or,A minimum of 3 years’ experience working with insurance vendors and regulatory agencies.Foundational understanding of risk management best practices as well as applicable policies and federal, state, and local laws and regulations.Strong computer skills in MS Office, with proven ability to write routine reports and correspondences.Preferred:Prior experience working in a food processing or manufacturing environments.Experience working with and leading cross-site and multi-functional teams.
