A Brief Overview:
As a Workers Compensation Assistant you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and compliant management of workers' compensation claims and related processes. In this position, you will work closely with hospital staff, insurance carriers, and injured employees to facilitate the workers' compensation claims process and help maintain a safe and supportive working environment for all employees.

What you will do:

Act as the primary point of contact for injured employees, HR personnel, attorney’s offices, case managers, and insurance carriers.Ensure timely communication of all treatment plans to referral sources and provide follow up as neededCommunicate approvals, denials, or delays to patients, physicians, and clinical team to ensure the smooth progression of claimsCoordinate and schedule Independent Medical Examinations and record reviews with available physicians. Coordinate pre-payment of physical services and obtain records/films for these appointments. Follow up when indicatedAssess program efficiency. Collaborate with program medical director, clinical, and administrative teams to recommend and implement changes for improvement. Develop and run program reports. Educate and mentor administrative and clinical team at all regional locations on relevant Worker’s compensation laws, standards, policies, and procedures.Establish dashboards to regularly review workers compensation volume, referral sources, within practice. Collaborate with HR and medical staff to develop and implement return-to-work programs for injured employees.Monitor and track the progress of employees during their transition back to work.Collaborate with the hospital's safety committee to identify and mitigate potential workplace hazards.Collaborate with HR and medical staff to develop and implement return-to-work programs for injured employees.Monitor and track the progress of employees during their transition back to work.Answer phone, greet patients upon entry, and obtain appropriate patient documentation as needed

 

What you will need:

Associates Degree RequiredPrevious experience in workers' compensation, insurance claims, or a related field is a plus AndPrevious experience working with a computerized scheduling system preferred
